Brief on my Visit to Diu : I had been on a 15 days Road-trip in the Unexplored Interiors of Gujarat covering the Places of Gir Wildlife Sanctuary and Diu was a Part of it.
Coming down from the Una-Diu Highway : We started Island and Beach Hopping . First was Being the Diu Fort after which…fort leads to the Roads in the interiors… and those Interiors again leads you to Beaches, Beaches and more Beaches.
You can have a look at the Map of Diu which make the Road-Mapping quite Clear!
The Giant and the Majestic Diu Fort and Fortess was the Backbone of the Portuguese Colonial Rule here as being invaded by the British and French rulers innumerable times but the Diu could never be conquered by either of them. Is built by the Yellow sandstone..
Chalo, lets go inside the Fort : We find some Canon balls yes, the fort also has Jail which is quite operational till date
You find Something else there
The Fort is so big : it is like Another City in itself. The Jail , Church , Storeroom , Place for Military training , Lighthouse , Provision for Storage Underground Water and Food and what not*
Lets move to a Spot from where We can talk to the Sea…
There are about 3 or 4 levels of escalation : every lapse assure you of a Sight different and Scenic from the other.
The Important Aspect of the Fort happens to be the Defence and its equipment so the fort revolves around this Perspective, You will find…
Canons are Spread or rather Scattered across the different Gates : Balconies anf Terraces protecting the Fort from Sea Attacks so you end up finding them more often.
Another Highlight is the Light-House which happens to be the last lapse of the Fort : so while climbing the way upstairs you come across Sights like this..
The Arch , Podium , Gates all lead to a Calming Space where you can spend hours and hours admiring the Sea, the View or retrospecting yourself or Gathering memories for Life…the Choice are too many but Subject is IsledeCama❤
